This is the time of year in Austin when the lassitude born of the sizzling hot dry days of summer begins to wane and progress in my goals comes more easily and quickly. I have midi ready tenors for Minoru and Jimmy in finishing. I am well into concerts for Brett and Warren and tenors for Henry, Steve and Darryl. I'm planning on starting Shawn's tenor, Minoru's baritone and Warren's taropatch in October and hoping to be finished by mid December.
After quite a few hours wiggling the fingers in front of the screen in the evenings the new dual E5520/12GB/1TB-Raid5 supermicro server is running nicely, hosting a xen virtualization environment. All my hosted domains have been moved and are ready to cut over, i've got a new postfix/amavisd/clamav/maildrop/spamassassin/dovecot mail hub running well. I've dropped the tmda backend processing because it seems less useful with so much source address forging going on in email these days. I need to spend some time soon setting up and checking out the new postscreen front end to postfix and fine tuning the clamav and spamassassin setup. I'm hoping to colo a second supermicro server in a separate location this year for redundancy and to provide an extended platform for research in virtualization and scalable, high availability application service delivery.
I'll be opening my 2010 build list in a month or so. I'm hoping to have time next year to build 6-8 custom instruments.
Thanks for the click and stay tuned !
